Kolkata to host rare duet event ‘Naad’ for classical music enthusiasts

NEWS WAVE INDIA: In a new addition to Kolkata’s rich classical music tradition, the city is set to host a rare duet event called ‘Naad’. The event, which has gained immense popularity in the past two years, is known for its high-quality and melodious classical music sessions. This year’s ‘Naad’ will be held at the GD Birla auditorium for three days, from March 24 to 26, and will feature world-renowned artists of classical music.

The event promises to be a unique opportunity for music lovers in the city to immerse themselves in the rhythms of rare duets. Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar on sarod, Kumaresh Rajagopalan on violin, Pandit Vikram Ghosh on tabla, Ranu Majumdar on flute, Pandit Devjyoti Bose on sarod, and Pandit Tanmoy Bose on tabla are some of the artists who will be performing at the event.

In addition to instrumental music, there will be dance performances by Jaya Sheel and her team, who will perform ‘Andal’, and Alakananda Roy, who will perform Rabindranath’s ‘Valmiki Pratibha’. The event is a joint initiative of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and tabla maestro Pandit Vikram Ghosh, who wanted to bring a new dimension to Kolkata’s cultural scene.
