Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart are scheduled to undertake a two-day visit to Gujarat

NEWS WAVE INDIA: Officials have announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart, Anthony Albanese, will visit Gujarat for two days starting from Wednesday. During their visit, they will attend the first day of the fourth Test match between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 9. PM Modi is expected to arrive in the late evening, while Albanese will land at Ahmedabad airport in the evening and visit the Sabarmati Ashram to pay his respects to Mahatma Gandhi.

As per the official schedule, Albanese will also attend a cultural event at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar, organized by the Gujarat government on the occasion of the Holi festival. The event will be attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Governor Acharya Devvrat, and other dignitaries. Additionally, Albanese will attend an event organized by an Australian university at a five-star hotel on Wednesday night.

On Thursday morning, both prime ministers will head to the Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera in Ahmedabad to watch the first-day play of the fourth Test between Australia and India. They are expected to leave after watching the match for a few hours.

In anticipation of a large number of spectators, more than 3,000 police personnel have been deployed at the stadium and surrounding areas in Ahmedabad. According to Additional Commissioner of Police Neeraj Badgujar, police have already completed all the security arrangements, with nearly 200 police officers and 3,000 policemen deployed to secure the stadium and other spots. Joint Commissioner of Police N N Chaudhary also noted that nearly 1,500 buses are expected to bring spectators to the stadium, and special parking arrangements have been made to accommodate these buses and other vehicles.
