Urvi Teresa Gomes, Kolkata: Life is short… so live it in a fatafati way. Produced by Windows and presented by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, ‘Fatafati’ is Aritra Mukherjee’s third film following ‘Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti’ and ‘Baba Baby O’. ‘Fatafati’ crossed the threshold of 50 glorious days on 30 th June, 2023— enjoying an IMDb rating of 8.3 and 3/5 by Times of India. The movie asserts the phrase of “my body, my choice”, revolving around body shaming in society. It focuses upon Phullora Bhaduri, a tailor from the suburbs with a gifted sense of designing who is ridiculed for being on the heavier side. Question arises, will she be able to rise as a fashion influencer when the odds are not in her favour?

Only one way to find out: watch the movie! Most of us have, at least once in our lives, looked at ourselves in the mirror and wondered: Am I capable of realising my dreams? ‘Fatafati’ delves deeper than just an identity crisis. ‘Fatafati’ beheld houseful shows at Nandan even in its eighth week and Aritra Mukherjee (Director) has shared: “I am very thankful to my entire team, without whose support this would never have been possible! I am very grateful
to my audience, who have shown so much love to this film that it gloriously crossed 50 days and people are still watching it and making our shows houseful.”

On the 5 th of July, 2023, Chapter 2 (Southern Avenue) caught Fatafati’s cast and crew, and spent a Musical Evening featuring live performances by Ishan Mitra, Pousali Banerjee, Shuchismita Chakraborty, Paramita Mallick and Khnada
Bhattacharjee. The evening witnessed the cast and crew of Fatafati (including Ritabhari Chakraborty, Abir Chatterjee, Soma Banerjee, Deboshree Ganguly, Sanghasri Sinha, Arijita Mukhopadhyay, and music directors Anindya Chatterjee and Amit Chatterjee) sharing their memorable experiences during the shooting of the film. Intimate conversations were followed up by a cake cutting ceremony. It is said that music and can say things that words cannot. ‘O Phullora’, one of the movie’s theme songs, has driven this fact home with lyrics vibrating with emotion and has won our hearts. The event came to a close with everyone humming the tune of ‘O Phullora’.
