127th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash C Bose observed with great fervour across India as “Parakram Divas”

Partha Roy, Kolkata: The great son of Bharat Mata Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s 127th Birth Anniversary was observed across India with great fervour by all sections of the society as “Parakram Divas”.

Parakram Divas was started in the year 2021 and observed annually keeping in mind the vision of honoring the freedom fighters who played an important role in the freedom struggle. Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Delhi in an elegant function. Ministry of Culture organized a grand exhibition focusing on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on the occasion of the Parakram Diwas. Sahitya Akademi organized an exhibition of books by and on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Ministry of Culture has organized a projection mapping show and a special exhibition focused on Netaji at the Red Fort. The exhibition runs till 31st January 2024. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of the Parakram Diwas. On this occasion, Sahitya Akademi has organized an exhibition of about 170 books on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose published in different Indian languages. Along with the exhibition of books, 24 panels of significant excerpts from those books have also been made, which have been elegantly displayed. Dr K. Sreenivasarao, Secretary, Sahitya Akademi guided Prime Minister through the exhibition. Panels depicted various stages of the life of Subhash Chandra Bose like his education, entry into the Indian National Congress, advocacy of armed revolution, becoming Congress President, his differences with Gandhi and Nehru, creation of Azad Hind Fauj and war with the British, etc. From the displayed panels, one can understand how Subhash Chandra Bose became a great patriot, scholar, struggling leader, philosopher, and a great personality with a deep interest in spirituality.

The Exhibition has been organized with picture & epigraphic exhibition, painting and sculpture exhibition and AR, VR exhibition. In Kolkata, at Netaji Bhavan on Elgin Road from where Netaji left India for the last time, an elegant function was organised by Netaji Research Bureau to pay tribute to Netaji. Dr. Shashi Panja Minister of West Bengal Government, Consul General of Germany, Deputy Consul General of Japan, a former member of INA Women wing 95-year-old Lt. Bharati Asha Sahay Choudhary along with a large no.of members of civil society were present. Asha Sahay’s father was part of INA and a close associate of Netaji. Father & daughter both were part of INA. Asha Sahay joined INA in her early teens. Asha Sahay has written ” The War Diary of Asha-San “. The book was translated into English by Tanvi Shrivastava.
