NEWS WAVE INDIA: Vivanta Kolkata hosted “Poetry in motion”- an unplugged session of Bratati Bandyopadhyay in conversation with Tanmoy Chakraborty on 6th Dec at Verve. This was an evening steeped in nostalgia as she celebrated 25 years of ‘’Ek Sondhayay Eka Bratati’’ with a light-hearted conversion studded with a bouquet of beautiful poems recited in between. Invitees were handpicked and included eminent personalities such as Subodh Sarkar, renowned Poet, Kohinoor Sen Barat, eminent Dancer and Choreographer & Subho Dasgupta, Musical artist & Poet and others who were part of her illustrious journey.

Painting with passion art exhibition

As a continued endeavour to promote local art and culture in the city, this event was followed up by the inaugural “Painting with passion art exhibition” from 17th-19th December 2021 at Swirl tea lounge. The exhibition featured four local talent viz. Bageshree Dutta, Paul Chiranjit, Gopal Chandra Naskar & Soumendra Nath Dutta showcasing their art exhibits on ‘The manifestation of the inner soul’. Chief guest attending the inauguration included Saniul Kader, First Secretary, Political and Ranjan Sen, First Secretary, Press relations, Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata.

Another guest of honour consisted of Dr. Sanat Kumar Saha, Professor, Scientist, Social and Cultural worker, Biswajit Matilal, Cultural Activist & Communication academician, Sudarshan Chakraborty, eminent Classical dancer and Choreographer, Somnath Kutty, Director of Kalamandalam and Cultural activist and many more personalities from the field of art and literature who all spoke about their love for art and were in favour of having such curated events on a regular basis offering a platform for local talents to remain relevant.

These initiatives have been curated in collaboration with Gautam De, Former regional director, ICCR & cultural activist whose passion for uplifting art and culture in the city is unmatched. The hotel plans to continue curating such events in the days to come appealing to the society at large and in tandem with the culinary offerings.
