NEWS WAVE INDIA: Clashes broke out between two groups during a Ram Navami procession in the Rishra area of Hooghly district, West Bengal, on Sunday evening, resulting in an injury to a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA.
According to the BJP Vice-President Dilip Ghosh, who was in the procession, the event was being conducted peacefully when stones were allegedly hurled at participants, leading to the violent clashes. The police have not yet identified the groups involved in the incident.
