PARTHA ROY, Kolkata: Thai Consul General in Kolkata Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep offered Prayers on Buddha Purnima ( Buddha Jayanti ) at Maha Boddhi Society in Kolkata to further strengthen India – Thailand Relationship .
Bhagwan Buddha and Buddhism deeply connect people of Thailand and Bharat historically over many centuries. Buddhism plays important role in building intergenerational connections between people of Thailand and Bharat through shared cultural – religious faith and values.Buddhism has weaved cultural synergy not only in religion, religious practices, but also in food habits , family values , clothing, education, health care and many other areas in every day life amongst people of Thailand and Bharat.
Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep is making immense contribution in enriching, expanding , and strengthening cultural, business as well as people to people connect relationship between Thailand and India. During her interaction with common people , Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep touched ordinary people’s heart in India, in the process , she created tremendous goodwill for Thailand in ordinary people ‘s heart in India. Wherever she visited she touched people ‘s heart. During her visit to Bodh Gaya in Bihar in March 2025, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep touched hearts of young children sowing the seeds of goodwill and positive understanding which will have ripple effect in decades to come.On May 11th, 2025, Thailand celebrated “Visakha Bucha Day” to observe the birth, enlightenment, and death of the Buddha. Visakha Bucha Day is observed across Thailand with various religious rituals and celebrations.
Thailand & India ties are expanding and reaching new heights after recent bilateral summit meeting between Prime Minister of Thailand Ms Paetongtarn Shinawatra andPrime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in April 2025and signing of several bilateral agreements.Consul General of Thailand Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep is transforming visions of cooperation & understanding signed in the agreement in to reality .
