Rupak Barua Elected New Chairman of CII-WB State Council for 2026-27

PARTHA ROY, KOLKATA: CII West Bengal State Council has elected Mr. Rupak Barua as Chairman and Mr. Prithish Chowdhary as Vice-Chairman for 2026-27. The announcement came at the council’s first reconstituted meeting in Kolkata on March 2, 2026. Mr. Barua, MD & CEO of Woodlands Hospital, brings over three decades of healthcare expertise in Eastern India.

A Calcutta University science graduate, he has led multi-specialty hospitals and holds key roles like Co-Chair of West Bengal’s Healthcare Sector and President of the Association of Hospitals of Eastern India. Mr. Chowdhary, Deputy Managing Director of Titagarh Rail Systems, is a third-generation entrepreneur focused on innovation and growth. A St. Xavier’s College BCom graduate, he has been active in CII since 2023-24.
