On the initiative of WICCI, an unique handicraft exhibition by women is being held at Groov-in near Jodhpur Park

NEWS WAVE INDIA: A trade exhibition showcasing handicrafts and other unique products began on Friday at Groove Inn in South Kolkata, organized by the Women Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI). The event featured women entrepreneurs from both Bengals, including industrialists from across Bengal, offering a diverse range of products, such as handmade jewellery, handloom sarees and kurtis, natural health and beauty products, herbal tea leaves, and more. Due to the pandemic, the exhibition was not possible for the past two years. However, Eastern Regional Council President Manjula Jain and Vice President Indu Gandhi are happy to organize this exhibition.

Sharmistha Raha, president of WCCI India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce, expressed that the organization’s primary goal is to provide a platform for entrepreneurs, especially businesswomen, to showcase their products. She also credited Dr. Harvin Arora Rai for his significant contributions to the exhibition.

Several entrepreneurs gained popularity by starting their own businesses during the pandemic, such as Swati Almal and Dimpy Pandey, who created natural health and beauty products that were showcased at the exhibition. Another entrepreneur, Kavita Kapoor, established Kolkata’s first-ever cheese boutique and currently runs nine brands, delivering boutique cheese to different parts of the country.

The exhibition also featured Tea Experience’s flavoured teas, which are available under the Artiz brand, known for providing a refreshing taste. Besides this, handloom cloth, handmade metal jewellery, and paintings stalls also garnered significant attention. Several entrepreneurs from Bangladesh will also be present at the event on Saturday.

Overall, the exhibition provided a great opportunity for women entrepreneurs to showcase their talents, connect with potential customers, and expand their businesses.
