Myth and Science Intertwined in the Evolution of Human Beings and in the Path of Civilizational Development, Reflecting Various Facets of Truth

PARTHA ROY, KOLKATA: Myth and science have been continuously evolving since the dawn of human civilization. The Victoria Memorial Hall organized a discussion on the book “Walk the Talk with Myth and Science,” written by Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose, Governor of West Bengal, on January 19, 2026.

The book was introduced by acclaimed international educationist Dr. Chinmoy Guha. Eminent scientist Dr. Parul Chakraborty spoke on the 16 different chapters in the book. Sanskrit scholar Prof. Mau Das Gupta presented the connections between the Vedas, Sanskrit scriptures, and the content of the book.

Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose, the author, presented an erudite and enlightened perspective on the development of human civilization and its connection to the individual human being’s life growth journey.

The book is a creation of enlightened vision, vast strong in-depth scientific and philosophical knowledge , and wide experience in people management and in public life, including rich learning experiences from family elders, such as his grandmother.

As Dr. Bose indicated, myth and science are intertwined. In many myths, truths are hidden but yet to be analyzed and proven by modern science, though they reflect truth and serve society and humanity.

Visionary leader Dr. Bose (Retired IAS) has authored around 120 books. Dr. Bose was honored by the United Nations for his commitment to public service.

Dr. Bose has penned his perspective on the historical understanding of civilizational development and its interconnection with individual human beings in a dynamic and evolving civilization. The book will be available at the Lok Bhawan stall E-86 at the International Kolkata Book Fair 2026 at Boimela Prangan.

Victoria Memorial Hall Curator Shri Anurag Kumar, in his address, said that knowledge is continuously evolving and expanding, and one needs to have an open, exploratory mind to connect to truth in various narratives and perspectives from historical to modern times.
