PARTHA ROY, KOLKATA: The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), a professional accountancy body under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, observed International MSME Day on June 27, 2026, at its premises in Kolkata. Chief Guest Shri Ashok Dinda, Minister of State for Agriculture Marketing, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Textiles, Government of West Bengal, said in his address that the state government is actively working to boost the MSME sector by promoting ease of doing business. He added that the newly elected state government is committed to creating a corruption-free environment, while urging industrialists to strictly comply with the laws of the land. Dinda also emphasised that the West Bengal MSME Department will strive to resolve issues within 48 hours or at the earliest possible time.
The programme was organised in collaboration with Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB). The event was attended by a large number of Cost Management Accountants (CMAs), past presidents, council members, industrialists from MSMEs and startups, as well as officials from the MSME departments of both the Union and State governments, including Saroj Kumar Sahoo of LUB. The event was organised by CMA Chittaranjan Chattopadhyay and CMA Dr. Sumita Chakraborty of the MSME & Startup Promotion Board, ICMAI, along with the Team ICMAI.
