INTACH Culinary Heritage Award for heritage tearoom “Flurys” on Park Street in Kolkata

Partha Roy, Kolkata: “Flurys” iconic heritage tearoom on Park Street in Kolkata was honoured by INTACH with Culinary Heritage Award. Plaque presented to Flurys describing the award was inagurated by Ms.Priya Paul Chairperson of Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels, of the Apeejay Surrendra Group, in presence of Shri Vijay Dewan Managing Director of Flurys and The Park Hotels, Shri Vikas Kumar Director Food Production of Flurys, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh Director Operations & Development of Flurys, Shri G M Kapur INTACH State Convenor for West Bengal and members of INTACH, management and staffs of Flurys and media on 19th July 2023.

Established in 1927 by Swiss couple Mr. and Mrs. J Flury, Flurys began as a modest confectionery shop before evolving into a distinguished tearoom. Its elegant décor, reminiscent of European tea salons, transports visitors to an era of refined indulgence. The interior showcases a perfect blend of old-world charm and contemporary sensibilities, featuring exquisite chandeliers, ornate furnishings, and inviting pastel hues that create an atmosphere of sheer sophistication.

For over nine decades, this legendary tearoom has charmed generations with its sumptuous offerings, making it an essential destination for food connoisseurs and history enthusiasts alike. Flurys stands as an iconic institution, synonymous with delectable desserts, impeccable service, and an enduring legacy.
