Urvi Teresa Gomes, Kolkata: As the nation celebrates its 77th Independence Day, the profound endeavour of Sanatani School of Languages in ensuring linguistic diversity and cultural heritage resonated with true significance on the 14th of August, 2023 at the premises of Sukharanjan Vidyamandir School. An intimate gathering, accentuated with solemn mirth and discussion, of different individuals united with the love for their nation, celebrated an uncommon theme: “The Pragmatic Theory of Truth in Independence.” The legacy of diverse languages and beliefs has been diligently preserved by this institution, thereby understanding that “language” serves as a means to express the sentiments of the heart without hindrance.

As the day unfolds, celebrations resonate across the land— from the bustling cities to the tranquil villages. The spirit of independence is not limited by geographical boundaries; it’s a sentiment that courses through every Indian heart. From flag hoisting ceremonies to cultural events, the day is a mosaic of emotions, traditions, and aspirations. In the grand tapestry of India’s journey, each Independence Day is a brushstroke, each citizen a part of the narrative. It is a day that rekindles our commitment to the ideals of justice, equality, and progress— a day that ignites a flame of patriotism in the young and reaffirms the same in the old.

Under the aegis of Sanatani School of Languages, three esteemed musical organizations, namely Taaleem Music Academy, Nrittya Madhuri, and Rajasree Music Academy, engineered a splendid cultural event titled “Mile Sur Mera Tumhara”. During the welcome speech, distinguished scholar and philanthropist, and also the Chief Guest of the event, Shri Chandrachur Goswami extended his heartiest gratitude towards Smt. Ratna Sur (Councilor of Ward no. 115 and 13th Borough Chairperson) for her monumental contributions to Sanatani School of Languages and The British Institutes. Shri Chandrachur Goswami further accentuated the poignant context of August 15th— a day intertwined with both joy and the painful division of Mother India, while reflecting on the sacrifice of the Indian National Army and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s struggles.

Accompanied by mellifluous vocalizations, the event featured a captivating musical performance by eminent singer Debasree Kanjilal. Poetic renditions resonated from the stage as renowned speakers Smt. Pronomi Banerjee and Smt. Sanjukta Dasgupta from Taaleem Music Academy encapsulated the audience with their poignant recitals. While Smt. Sipra De presented a nationalist melody on behalf of Taaleem Music Academy, Smt. Mom Chakraborty mesmerized the audience with her elegant dance performance. The event’s highlight was featured by Nrittya Madhuri troupe whose passionate performance captivated both the spectators and their mentor, Smt. Sharmistha Das. Furthermore, Smt. Rajasree Bhattacharjee, distinguished dancer and teacher from Rajasree Music Academy, alongside her gifted pupils, enthralled the audience with expressive choreographies. The proceedings of the auspicious event was managed expertly by Smt. Sraboni Mukherjee and Shri Antareep Dutta.

The event not only showcased distinct art forms but also established an exceptional example of harmonious coexistence, emphasizing the coalescence of development, education, and culture beyond the divisions of political ideologies, as endorsed by insightful societal figures. The exceptional vision of Sanatani School of Languages, championed by Shri Chandrachur Goswami and the distinguished representative of the masses, Smt. Ratna Sur, substantiates the commitment to elevating development and enriching education and culture— thus forming a unique and indelible paradigm.
