Fan Meet and Greet of the ‘Nandy Sisters’ at Mani Square

Urvi Teresa Gomes, Kolkata: On the 16th of July Mani Square caught the rising stars— Nandy Sisters at a cheerful and warm fan meet. The sisters, Antara and Ankita Nandy, quickly rose to fame in the musical world with their hypnotic voices. Best known for their internet viral mashups and renditions of various
songs, alongwith their Balcony Concert series, the Nandy Sisters were greeted by a rising crowd of devoted fans at Mani Square. In total, they have sung in 26 languages, both national and international.

The fan meet and greet kicked off with a little singing session where the Sisters obliged to song requests from their fans. Popular numbers such as Chaand Baaliyan and Tapa Tini were sung by the Nandy Sisters, who were enthusiastically joined by fans across all ages in unison. Following this session was a game where the Sisters quizzed their fandom— testing their fans knowledge about them. Members of the audience who answered correctly were brought up on stage and offered trendy merch by the Nandy Sisters.

Fans shared stories of how Antara and Ankita have inspired them; one of them even learnt playing the ukulele because of the Nandy Sisters. The two singers shared bits of their musical journey— from being cool teenagers to evolving into a viral singing sensation. Following intimate chats, the Nandy Sisters mesmerised the crowd yet again by singing one of their originals. The event came to a close with passionate fans giving gifts and portraits to their idols, and clicking selfies with them. By the end of the fan meet, the once-little-now-large crowd dispersed with a warm sensation of love and admiration for the Nandy Sisters.
