Centenary of Dakshin Kalikata Sevashram an orphanage founded by Desbandhu and Netaji celebrated

Partha Roy, Kolkata: Centenary of Dakshin Kalikata Sevashram an orphanage founded by Desbandhu Chittaranjan Das and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated on 11th & 12th March 2023 at orphanage premises on Sarat Bose Road in Kolkata.

The orphanage played major role in rehabilitation and development of abandoned children over the century as well as empowering them with skill sets to sustain life and face various challenges of life from time to time.

Inaguration ceremony was attended by First Lokpal of India Justice Pinaki Ranjan Ghosh. Key note address was delivered by Swami Suparnananda Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark.

Smt. Roma Ray daughter of Sarat Chandra Bose and other members of Bose family as well as descendents of Chittaranjan Das ,from both founders ‘ family graced the inaguration ceremony. Smt. Roma Ray delivered a message of Blessings to inmates and to team members of management committee.

Justice Chittotosh Mukherjee former Chief Justice ,& grandson of Sir Asutosh Mukherjee and current head of Managing committee of Dakshin Kalikata Sevashram along with several other judges and legal illuminaries, top IAS officers and bureaucrats, top police officers of West Bengal , top monks of Ramakrishna Mission order alongwith many eminent personalities were present during two days celebration.

Shri Subhrendra Maulik , Secretary of Dakshin Kalikata Sevashram presented facts on historical journey of orphanage since it’s inception.

Inmates of the orphanage performed cultural programs. Several top musicians performed during two days celebration.

Shri Biswajit Matilal senior journalist & top Corporate Executive moderated a discussion on theme : “Social Service : Passion or Past time”. Dakshin Kalikata Sevashram received several honours during its century old journey path.
