PARTHA ROY, Kolkata: An interesting discussion on the book titled ” Sati ” written by Satish Jhunjhunwala and Ananda Mukherji was organised by Calcutta Chamber of Commerce Ladies Forum (CCCLF) in Kolkata on 17th September 2025. The discussion was moderated by Smt. Kavita Patodia researcher in area of religions, spirituality and more.
The book ” Sati : The Myth of Widow Burning in British India” is well researched book on various narratives created during colonial era by colonial rulers and their associates for wider socio-cultural engineering to control and manage indigenous and diverse Hindu population as well as subvert dignity of followers of Hinduism.
The authors : Satish Jhunjhunwala, an engineer from BIT, Mesra and was President of Rani Sati Mandir Trust, Jhunjhunu, and has been deeply concerned about the contentious Sati issue and Ananda Mukherji is retired career Banker and researcher.
