Partha Roy, Kolkata: Akashvani Kolkata is to host ‘Vigyan Vasudha’ on 4th August 2023, Friday at 12 noon at West Bengal Veterinary Council Auditorium, at West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) Campus in Kolkata. Under India’s presidency of G20 nations and the theme that it has set is ” Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: One earth one family”. Today’s world is plagued by the crippling effects of “Climate Change”. Only science can find out a solution from this maze of unsurmountable challenges that global warming present. Hence India is stressing on effective scientific agenda, on disruptive innovations.
Scientists, administrators and students will seek to understand the depth of climate change at Vigyan Vasudha. The programme will be inaugurated by Dr Chandra Sekhar Chakrabarti, former Vice Chancellor, WBUAFS.

••Keynote lecture on Climate Change and Disaster Management by Dr Manabendra Nath Roy, former IAS and former Additional Chief Secretary in the Department of Panchayet & Rural Development
••Panel discussion on the detrimental effects of Climate Change and Role of Scientists will feature two eminent scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research namely Dr Sitangsu Mohan Deb and Dr Tapas Kumar Ghoshal. Prof Pradip Kumar Das of WBUAFS will be moderator
••Two short skits on Climate Change will be presented by the students of WBUAFS
••Mime show on the theme Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam by Deb Kumar Paul and group
••Audience Quiz on G20
Vigyan Vasudha will put emphasis on identifying solutions that can actually help the planet Earth in an epoch of unprecedented Climate Change.
