PARTHA ROY, KOLKATA: Mr Mehul Mohanka elected as Chairman and Mr Rudra Chatterjee as Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region Council for the year 2026-27 on 24th March 2026 in Kolkata.

Mr Mohanka, Managing Director and Group CEO of Tega Group of Companies, has steered the firm into a global leader with 10 plants across four countries, over 3,600 employees, and operations serving customers in 96 nations. An MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a Harvard Business School advanced management certificate holder, he has previously served in several important leadership positions in CII.

Mr Chatterjee, Managing Director of Luxmi Tea and Chairman of Obeetee Pvt Ltd, leads the century-old Luxmi Tea group, which produces over 30 million kg of tea annually from 25 estates in India and Africa, including the iconic Makaibari organic tea garden. He also chairs Silverback Tea (Rwanda) and serves as Honorary Consul of Rwanda for Eastern India. A Columbia Business School MBA (Dean’s List) and Oxford Master’s in History of Design, he brings extensive experience in tea, home furnishings, and real estate.
