With seniors living longer, the demand for proper financial planning, quality healthcare, and lifestyle support services has become critical for ensuring healthy and productive ageing.<\/p>\n<p>In urban centres like Kolkata, the shift away from traditional joint families has encouraged \u201cactive ageing\u201d, with many seniors preferring independent, amenity-rich living arrangements. In rural Bengal, large-scale youth migration has resulted in rising loneliness among the elderly, creating strong demand for professional home healthcare and caregiving services. This trend is opening new employment opportunities for young people in nursing, geriatric care, and companionship roles.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar emphasised the transition from conventional old-age homes to modern integrated senior living solutions. These include luxury retirement communities equipped with healthcare facilities and smart safety features, age-specific assisted living options (for 60-70, 70-80, and 80+ age groups), and technology-driven care such as telemedicine and wearable health monitors.<\/p>\n<p>Experts at the event stressed the need for an integrated caregiving ecosystem.
