The budget introduces a significant tax relief, infrastructure expansion, and key initiatives across multiple sectors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Big Budget Boost for Middle Class<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A major highlight of the budget is the relief in personal income tax, with no tax payable on income up to Rs 12 lakh. Additionally, salaried taxpayers earning up to Rs 12.75 lakh will also be exempt from paying income tax. The new tax regime is structured as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Up to Rs 4 lakh &#8211; 0%<\/p>\n<p>Rs 4-8 lakh &#8211; 5%<\/p>\n<p>Rs 8-12 lakh &#8211; 10%<\/p>\n<p>Rs 12-16 lakh &#8211; 15%<\/p>\n<p>Rs 16-20 lakh &#8211; 20%<\/p>\n<p>Rs 20-24 lakh &#8211; 25%<\/p>\n<p>Above Rs 24 lakh &#8211; 30%<\/p>\n<p>Personal income tax reforms have been focused on benefiting the middle class, with the annual limit of TDS on rent raised from Rs 2.4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. Additionally, the tax deduction limit for senior citizens has been doubled to Rs 1 lakh.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Startups and Banking Reforms<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The budget extends benefits for startups, allowing tax exemptions to continue for five years from inception. In banking and insurance, a Grameen credit score framework will be introduced for rural India, and the FDI limit for the insurance sector will be raised to 100%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Housing and Agriculture Reforms<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The government has announced a Rs 15,000 crore fund to ensure the quick completion of 1 lakh housing units. For farmers, a six-year mission has been launched to achieve \u201cAtmanirbharta\u201d in oil seeds, along with a five-year plan to enhance cotton yield and quality. Additionally, the Kisan Credit Card loan limit has been increased to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 3 lakh.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education and Healthcare<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The budget proposes establishing Atal Tinkering Labs in schools and providing broadband internet access to government secondary schools. IIT infrastructure will also be expanded, with IIT Patna set for significant development.<\/p>\n<p>In healthcare, daycare cancer centers will be established in all district hospitals, with 200 centers planned for fiscal 2026. Six life-saving drugs will now have a 5% duty, while 36 life-saving drugs for cancer and chronic diseases will be exempt from basic customs duty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boost to MSMEs and Infrastructure Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To support small and medium enterprises, the credit guarantee cover for MSMEs has been increased to Rs 10 crore from Rs 5 crore. The budget also allocates Rs 1.5 lakh crore in interest-free loans to states for infrastructure reforms. Over 100 new locations are set to get regional airports in the next decade, while UDAN 2.0 will connect 120 new airports, focusing on the Northeast and Bihar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Economy and Excise\/Customs Duty Reforms<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A new investment-friendly index will be launched to increase competition among states. The revised fiscal deficit for 2025 stands at 4.8%, while capital expenditure is set at Rs 10.18 lakh crore. Additionally, an Export Promotion Mission will be launched for easy access to export credit, and seven tariff rates will be removed, leaving only eight remaining.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s Development and Rural India Initiatives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A term loan of Rs 2 crore will be provided to women entrepreneurs from SC\/ST and backward classes. Additionally, nutritional support will be extended to over 8 crore children and 1 crore lactating mothers under new rural development schemes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make in India and Technology Innovations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The budget introduces a National Manufacturing Mission to support policy frameworks and monitoring for industrial growth. Clean technology and nuclear energy research will also receive a boost. A Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence will be established with a Rs 500 crore allocation, and 25 additional capital goods will be supported for EV battery manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Water Management and Tourism<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Jal Jeevan Mission will now be extended until 2028 to improve water access across the country.
