Partha Roy, Kolkata: India’s premier Business and Industry Chamber Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) organised their 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Annual Session on 31st October 2023 in Kolkata.

Mr. Ameya Prabhu, Businessman, writer, and philanthropist took over as President of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Mr. Ameya Prabhu, is Founder, and Managing Director of NAFA Capital Advisors, a Mumbai-based asset management and financial firm. Mr. Prabhu is also involved with several NGOs and promoting holistic human development. Mr. Ameya Prabhu has been designated as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Mr. Ameya Prabhu is son of former Union Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu who pioneered and made rich contribution in multi-sectoral development of India including in area of development of Foreign trade. Mrs. & Mr. Suresh Prabhu, parents of Ameya Prabhu attended the program alongwith parents of Mr. Mehul Mohanka who demitted from office of President of ICC after completion of his term.

Mr. Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless Limited, USD 4.20 billion consortium, took over as the Senior Vice President of ICC. Mr. Brij Bhushan Agarwal took over as Vice President of ICC. Mr. Agarwal is Vice Chairman & MD of Shyam Metalics, a leading Metals producing Company with a combined capacity of 13 MTPA.

The Program started with discussions on theme of “Family Business & Transition”. Ltd., and Chairman, Obeetee Ltd.; Mr. Pranav Sayta, Partner & National Leader, International Tax & Transaction Services, Ernst & Young LLP; Mr. Mehul Mohanka, President, Indian Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Ameya Prabhu, Senior Vice President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce; and Mr. Abhyuday Jindal, Vice President, Indian Chamber of Commerce.

The speakers mentioned continuous dialogue within various generations of any Business family facilitate in healthy transition of ownership and management from one generation to succeeding generations. During the tenure of Mr. Mehul Mohanka ICC has grown many fold within the country as well as internationally as it showcased various sectors of Indian industry abroad including in Europe, Middle East, Africa. Due to Mr. Mehul Mohanka’s initiative, ICC has become official partner of Government of West Bengal’s 7th Edition of Bengal Global Business Summit, 2023 which will be held on November 21st and 22nd, 2023 in Kolkata.

A presention on business opportunities in Meydan Free Trade Zone in UAE was organised. An exclusive session on sports, motivation, the importance of women empowerment with PV Sindhu, Padma Bhushan & Arjuna Awardee, Badminton World Champion and Sanya Malhotra, renowned actress was organised. A grand musical performance by the renowned musicians Sourendro & Soumyojit concluded the program.
