Metro Railway General Manager Inspects Majerhat Station, Expresses Satisfaction
NEWS WAVE INDIA: Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway, inspected the Majerhat station of Joka – Esplanade Corridor (Purple Line) today. He was accompanied by Shri Amit Roy, ED, RVNL and other senior officials of RVNL and Metro Railway.
During the inspection, Shri Reddy was briefed about the planning of the station and the passenger amenities that will be available here. He also inspected the passenger interchanging points here with Majerhat station of Eastern Railway, Property Development Unit, platform level etc.
Shri Reddy expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at Majerhat station. He said that the girder construction work at the station is an engineering marvel and that the Metro authorities are working sincerely to clear all the hurdles one by one. He requested all the stakeholders to cooperate to complete all Metro projects as early as possible.
Shri Reddy also inspected Beleghata and Barun Sengupta stations of Kavi Subhash to Bimanbandar via Rajarhat Metro Corridor (Orange Line). He reviewed the progress of work at these stations and instructed Metro officials to plan for utilisation of property development of Barun Sengupta station. He also advised RVNL authorities to complete the construction work at the earliest.
Shri Reddy said that the Metro Railway is committed to providing world-class infrastructure to the people of Kolkata and that it is working tirelessly to complete all projects on time. He urged the people of Kolkata to cooperate with the Metro authorities and to use the Metro services for their daily commute.
