NEWS WAVE INDIA: In a thrilling IPL 2023 match on Thursday, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a commanding 81-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with a fantastic all-round show. The match witnessed some top-class performances from KKR’s players, including Shardul Thakur, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Varun Chakravarthy.

Asked to bat first, KKR lost some early wickets but bounced back with impressive innings from Gurbaz and Thakur. Gurbaz smashed 57 off 44 balls, while Thakur’s unbeaten 68 off 29 balls took KKR to a challenging total of 204/7 in 20 overs.

In response, RCB started well but soon lost wickets in quick succession, thanks to the brilliance of KKR’s bowlers. Chakravarthy was the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets, while Sunil Narine and Shardul Thakur chipped in with two and one wicket, respectively. Debutant Suyash Sharma also impressed, taking three wickets to help KKR bundle out RCB for just 123 runs in 17.4 overs.

Overall, it was a comprehensive victory for KKR, who will be delighted with their all-round show. The win will give them a lot of confidence as they look to build on this performance in the rest of the tournament.
