IIT Kharagpur Organises 4th International Symposium on Knowledge Engineering in Digital Library Design (KEDLD-2025)
PARTHA ROY, Kolkata: IIT Kharagpur hosted the 4th International Symposium on Knowledge Engineering in Digital Library Design (KEDLD-2025) from November 3–5, 2025, in Kharagpur. Eminent scholars, library professionals, and technologists from India and abroad gathered to explore the future of digital libraries and knowledge engineering.
Prof. Ramesh C. Gaur, Dean (Administration), Director & Head, IGNCA, New Delhi, underscored the vital role of digital knowledge systems in modern academia. Dr. Plaban Kr. Bhowmick, PI-NDLI, IIT Kharagpur, discussed the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) and its transformative impact on digital learning. Chief Guest Lt. Col. Anant Sinha, Administrator, The Asiatic Society, Kolkata, released the Symposium Souvenir and Proceedings.
Prof. Suman Chakraborty, IIT Kharagpur Director, highlighted technology’s and collaboration’s role in advancing digital libraries. Sessions covered digital knowledge creation, metadata engineering, emerging technologies, and open access, spurring innovation and partnerships in the field.
