External Affairs Minister Jaishankar Asserts India Will Not Tolerate Disrespect of National Flag

NEWS WAVE INDIA: In a statement made on Sunday, India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, emphasized that India is a responsible and firm country that will not tolerate any disrespect towards its national flag. His remarks come after an incident in London last month where a group of protesters waving separatist Khalistani flags had pulled down the Indian tricolour that was flying atop the Indian High Commission.

Jaishankar stated that an even larger flag was immediately put up on the building as a statement to both the Khalistanis and to the British. He further pointed out that similar incidents had taken place in London, Canada, Australia, and San Francisco, and that India would not accept any such disrespect.

The Indian government has condemned the flag desecration incident in London and has called for a strong response. Jaishankar’s remarks suggest that the Indian government will not hesitate to take strong action against any attempts to disrespect or harm the country’s national symbols.

The incident in London had sparked outrage in India, with many expressing their disappointment and anger on social media. The Indian diaspora had also held protests outside the Indian High Commission in London, demanding action against the protesters who had desecrated the national flag.
