Delhi Pavillion showcased the 'Heritage' theme at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023
Dilip Guha, New Delhi: The 42nd edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 began in the national capital of Delhi on Tuesday. This year’s theme is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, which means ‘the world is a family’. Almost 3,500 exhibitors from both India and abroad are participating in the annual event.
This year, Bihar and Kerala are partner states for this event, while Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh are the focus states. There are 28 states and Union territories actively taking part in the exhibition. Hon’ble Minister Industries Govt. of NCT Delhi Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj inaugurated the Delhi Pavilion, which follows the theme of ‘Heritage’ and showcases progressive initiatives in various sectors.
While addressing the Media, the minister informed that this year ITPO organises IITF at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from November 14-27, November 2023 on the theme of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – United by Trade”. GNCTD is participating in IITF 2023 as one of the Focus States and set up the Delhi Pavilion on the heritage theme of Connaught Place. Hon’ble Minister appreciated the design and heritage theme of the pavilion which includes a depiction of ‘Connaught Place Delhi’ and a 3D structure of ‘Akshardham Temple’.
The pavilion which is dedicated to the departments of Delhi has a thematic area on the ‘Invest Delhi’ theme, EODB, Ease of Living, and Clean Delhi Green Delhi. Thrust and importance on the key three corridors designed in the Delhi Pavilion viz. ‘Tourism Corridor’ (having cut-outs of historical monuments of Delhi, Medical Tourism and Education Tourism), ‘Cultural Corridor’ (dedicated to Yoga, Festivals and Dance forms of Delhi), and ‘Industrial Corridor’ (dedicated to start-ups, entrepreneurs and MSMEs) and Minister, told that the State Govt. dedicated to promoting tourism, cultural activities, and encourage start-up, and knowledge-based MSMEs.
He informed that In line with the vision of ‘AAP KI SARKAR, AAP KE DWAR’ with Doorstep Delivery number 1076, various departments are providing ‘on-the-spot services’ in the pavilion. Participating departments are the Transport Department, Health Department, Education Department, IndustriesDepartment and DSIIDC, DelhiJalBoard, TourismDepartment, TourismDepartment, Bharti Delhi Emporium, State Urban Livelihood Mission (SULM), Directorate of Information & Publicity (DIP), and Social Welfare Department.
To make tourism a pleasant experience in Delhi; City Heritagewalk, Tourist spots of Delhi with a QR code on the screen, Delhi Film Policy, Dekho Meri Delhi App etc. are displayed at Delhi Tourism stall. Bharti Delhi Emporium visitors can buy beautiful handicrafts, handloom products, engraved marble artefacts, artistic articles and paintings made by renowned artists, jewellery, garments etc. here.
This year, Entrepreneurs, MSMEs, Start-ups and exporters based in the NCT of Delhi have been facilitated and given an opportunity to participate in the Delhi Pavilion by setting up their stalls at subsidized rates. Hon’ble Minister described the message behind the theme which is developing Delhi as an Entrepreneurs Paradise in the near future.
Delhi Pavilion observed the first day of IITF 2023 with cultural events, musical performances, interactive financial literacy sessions, dances etc. A workshop on Entrepreneurship Development followed by a seminar on “Making Delhi an Entrepreneur’s Paradise” will be held on 17th November, 2023 during IITF 2023 at the Conference Room, Hall No. 8, in Pragati Maidan. And ‘Delhi Day’ will be observed on 21st November 2023 at Amphi Theater, PragatiMaidan where the artists of Sahitaya Kala Parishad and a renowned celebrity will perform to entertain the visitors.
