CII introduces Digital Clinic to boost Digital Adoption for MSMEs

PARTHA ROY, Kolkata: MSMEs need to adopt digital solutions to stay competitive as large companies embrace technology and automation in a fast changing technology landscape. CII Eastern Region launched the Digital Clinic at ICT East 2025 in Kolkata on 24th September 2025, linking MSMEs with solution providers to address challenges in cybersecurity, AI, automation, e-commerce, and skill development. The event featured the Innovation Walkthrough, showcasing live demonstrations of Business Solutions, Future of Work, and a Cyberattack & Defence Pod, highlighting cutting-edge technologies.

Ms. Swapna Bapat, Managing Director – India & SAARC, Palo Alto Networks, noted India’s rank as the third most cyber-attacked nation, with breaches costing millions. She stressed accountability in digital transformation, as Global Capability Centres are expected to contribute $300 billion to India’s GDP by 2025. Mr. Krishan Ghei from Tata Communications emphasized Eastern India’s digital potential, with MSMEs adopting cloudification and startups driving innovation, requiring responsible digitisation with governance.

Mr. Sanjeev Chauhan of Oracle highlighted Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities as digital talent hubs, urging IT education integration. Mr. Prosenjit Sengupta, CII ER ICTE Chairman, said India’s digital economy could hit $1 trillion by 2030, driven by AI, IoT, and over 1,900 GCCs employing 1.7 million.
